A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Hello welcome to my classroom, My name is Taylor Latimer. I will be your child's teacher. I am first year teacher recently graduated from university of nebraska. I believe in creating an open and respectful classroom and in order to make that possible it with take the efforts of not only the students, but the families as well.
MY BELIEFS
I want to make it my mission as a teacher to provide a warm, caring, enthusiastic, supportive and safe environment for each and every one of my students. I believe that it is important that I know my students on a personal level in order understand them and show them empathy.
I believe that order to give my students the best education possible from me, I need outside help and that is where you as a family come into play. when family life is dysfunctional for children it have negative effects and can create stress and mental health problems for them. I only have a set number of hours with each student a day it is you job to help them grow even more when they leave my classroom. That means having a healthy family environment for them to thrive and setting rules and boundaries for them with it comes to homework. some of the take home work I will give them will consist of family activities for all to do together. It is important the same rules and standards that I hold my students in the classroom are followed at home as well.
It is my belief as a teacher that I am here to help foster the education of your child, but in order to that I need to better understand my students families as well and how your system functions as a unit. At the beginning of the school year I plan to hold a family meet and greet. In order to conversate with all of you guys and get know and map your family life out learning more about how the different interactions of each of you. Having this Knowledge with better help me understand the best approach for you child and how they will fit into my classroom and what the most beneficial environment for them will be. By creating a great line of communication between me and your family I hope that will build trust for the future and positive changes for my students as well.
HOW TO HELP
My goal as your child's teacher is to help promotes growth both academically and personally. Students and families are also welcomed into a dynamic and supportive community. I will be working with your children to help grow them and foster their education as well, but that can only work so well if the family is on board as well in helping do the same.
